The Community

In order to be successful, we are going to need avid trail users, as well as others that see the immense value of the trails to our community, to give us financial support beyond a parking pass.  To that end, we will be building out Supporter and Patron donor levels for individuals and a sponsorship program for businesses.

To say thank you to these individuals and businesses, we’re thinking along the lines of:

  • multiple parking passes
  • recognition on the website (all) and at the trailheads (sponsors)
  • trail status alerts via text message
  • guesses on when the trails might reopen after a rain
  • advanced notice of things like new or refurbished trail openings
  • inside information on plans for construction
  • merchandise such as unique bumper stickers, hats, coffee mugs, and similar items
  • special events

Because it’s the easiest to implement, we’re going to start with Supporters and Patrons.  And we’ll also us an upcoming app to track individual volunteer hours so that people can attain supporter or patron status by volunteering as well as writing checks.  For volunteers, we’ll refer to these levels as Trail Crew and Trail Stewards.  Then we’ll get to sponsorships.

here’s the current plan:

Supporters and Trail Crew: $250 or 10 hours

  • Immediately
    • recognition on the website
    • two parking passes for members of household
    • inside information on management, maintenance, construction, etc.
    • text alerts for changes in trail status (e.g., closed and open)
  • As soon as we can get to it,
    • unique bumper stickers
      • Supporters: silver palmetto leaf and “Supporter”
      • Trail Crew: profile of silver rogue hoe 70H replaces palmetto leaf, “Trail Crew”
    • ability to purchase unique merchandise

Patrons and Trail Stewards: $500 or 20 hours

  • Immediately
    • parking passes for all members of household
    • recognition on the website
    • inside information on management, maintenance, construction, etc.
    • text alerts for changes in trail status (e.g., closed and open)
    • updates and guesses on when the trails will reopen after a rain
    • advanced notice of things like new or refurbished trail openings
  • As soon as we can get to it,
    • unique bumper stickers
      • Supporters: gold palmetto leaf and “Patron”
      • Trail Stewards: profile of gold rogue hoe 70H replaces palmetto leaf, “Trail Steward
    • ability to purchase unique merchandise

As we begin a new phase of Standing Boy Trails with the rollout of the parking fee and these programs, we ask that you give at these enhanced levels today to support our mission and help us build out a more robust organization. As your contributions allow us to do so, we’ll add more goodies, but we’ll need some time.
